Join us for an evening of hilarious comedy at Migration Museum‘s new venue in the heart of Lewisham Shopping Centre.

No Direction Home is a collective of stand-up comics from refugee and migrant backgrounds mentored by award-winning comedian Tom Parry. Headlining the gig will be very special guest comedians Kae Kurd and Charlie George.

// Counterpoints Arts runs No Direction Home as part of its Pop Culture and Social Change (PopChange) program, in partnership with Camden People’s Theatre and comedian Tom Parry. It’s a unique course for new comics from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Since 2018 they have performed more than 15 gigs around the country, including at the Southbank Centre in London.

Kae Kurd

Kae Kurd is a young British-Kurdish stand up making a serious name for himself. He was part of the Pleasance’s prestigious Comedy Reserve showcase and supported Dane Baptiste on his nationwide tour, and in 2017 Kae took his debut hour to the Edinburgh Fringe. His unique back story as a child refugee and his emergence from the Black British comedy circuit totally shining out amongst the newcomer landscape. He’s also a regular radio presenter on BBC Asian Network.

Charlie George

Charlie is an award winning stand-up comedian and writer. LGBTQ New Comedian of the Year 2019. So You Think You’re Funny & Funny Women Awards runner up 2019 & Leicester Square New Comedian Award & Pride’s Got Talent finalist 2018. Charlie has also performed stand-up on BBC Asian Network Live and the BBC’s No Country for Young Women Podcast. She co-hosts her own comedy night, ‘Crack-Up Comedy Cabaret’ in aid of Hackney mental health charity Core Arts.

Tom Parry

Ally

Tom Parry is an actor, writer and comedian. He performed his debut solo show ‘Yellow T-shirt’ at the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It was nominated as the Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and earned Parry a BBC radio 4 show. His follow up show ‘Parryoke' was a sell out critical success at the Edinburgh 2019 Festival. He is working with PopChange on training the next cohort of comedians as part of our No Direction Home project.
