A new short documentary by Sid Elbadawi: A filmmaker sets out to document a trip with his Sudanese family in the shadow of the civil war, but finds the process undoing the film itself.
(Failing to Make) A Documentary About My Sudanese Family will premiere at BFI London Film Festival on 13 and 17 October 2026 as part of a programme called Altered States “Altered Fractured memories and uncertain fates are examined in shorts featuring our unshakeable resolve.”
