Michael Sells
My professional journey started as a Director of the UK’s first jungle music play at the Gordon Craig Theatre. I studied playwriting with David Edgar. I devised touring shows with a youth-led displaced person’s theatre ensemble Streets Alive. I produced original work by Kae Tempest and Bola Agbaje and showcased Cardboard Citizen’s Hostel Tour in public venues and at festivals. I was Head of Programmes for Create, a multi-arts charity which matched artists with prisoners, carers, pupils in SEN schools and elderly people. As Development Director for AudioActive, I established a hub for local music producers/ artists in Brighton. I started a Producing role at Dartington in March 2022, overseeing a live-arts offer, producing annual festivals and developing an outreach offer.
